Tesco has announced that general Christmas delivery slots will open on Thursday, 5 November. The retailer found that shoppers are already preparing for the holiday season, with searches for “Christmas” nearly double what they were this time last year.
Searches for “Christmas food” surged 277% compared with last year. Meanwhile, searches for “Christmas lights” are up 111% from last year as customers look to bring some festive sparkle to their homes.
Tesco is offering greater flexibility, with more delivery slots available, including extended delivery windows from 6am to 11pm and same-day delivery when booked before 3pm. The retailer is also reminding customers to sign up for a Delivery Saver plan by 11:59pm on Monday, 2 November, to secure early access to online slots for the festive period from Tuesday, 3 November.
Laura Ramsell, online customer director at Tesco, said: “It’s nearly time to book the big Christmas shop. With 60,000 more delivery slots available than last year and bookings opening from 6am, we’re making it easier than ever for customers to secure a slot that works for them.”
Tesco’s Festive Food to Order range is designed to help customers take the pressure off during the holiday season. The range offers a variety of options for hosting the big family gathering or supplying the finishing touches. Customers looking to get ahead can also sign up for an Anytime Delivery Saver plan, which offers priority access to Christmas delivery slots.
